The conference "A Europe for ALL Ages" took place on January 10, 2025, and was organized by the Cyprus Third Age Observatory in collaboration with AGE Platform Europe, the European Parliament Office in Cyprus, and the National Bioethics Committee of Cyprus. The conference was co-funded by the EU.
Ministers, Commissioners, Members of Parliament and the European Parliament, experts, and policymakers gathered at the Journalists' House in Nicosia to discuss one of the most critical challenges of our time: the demographic shift towards an ageing population.
Key highlights of the event included roundtable discussions on:
Health and Safety
Quality Aging and Human Rights

Age-Friendly Cities
Commitment from Leadership:
Representatives from the government, the health sector, and EU institutions committed to prioritizing policies that respect the dignity and rights of older adults.
Priority for Age-Friendly Policies:
Strategies were discussed to tackle ageism, prevent elder abuse, and promote social inclusion, with a focus on gender perspectives.
Active Aging & the Silver Economy:
The importance of leveraging the untapped potential of older adults for economic development was emphasized, highlighting innovative services, silver tourism, and intergenerational cooperation.
